Previous Academic Appointments: Former Director of the Chinese Medical Association (CMA); Former Chairman of the Microsurgery Branch, CMA; Former Vice Chairman of Chinese Society of Reconstructive and Reparative Surgery; Member of the PLA Science and Technology Committee; Former Chairman of PLA Professional Committee of Microsurgery; Former Chairman of Shanghai Society of Reconstructive Surgery; Former Vice Chairman, Chinese Chapter of International Society for Spinal Cord Injury, among other posts. Honors & Awards: Honored as Top Ten Young and Middle-aged Physicians of Shanghai, Top Ten Scientific and Technological Elites of Shanghai, Outstanding Teacher of the PLA, Silver Star of Science and Technology of the General Logistics Department of the PLA. Granted Special Government Allowance in 1993; awarded the title of Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding National Contributions by the Ministry of Personnel and the General Political Department in 1994. Professional Experience & Academic Achievements: Engaged in clinical orthopedics for 50 years, focusing long-term on clinical research of extremity trauma, reconstructive surgery, hand surgery and microsurgery. Editor-in-chief of 30 academic monographs; published more than 400 research papers; obtained 8 national invention patents; presided over 8 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As a key contributor, he has been awarded 22 major scientific and technological prizes at or above the Second Class from the state, the PLA and Shanghai Municipality.
